Funerals

We’ll always be here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service, for as long as it’s needed.

 

At a funeral we commend your loved one into God's keeping and it is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief, to give thanks and celebrate the life which has now completed its journey in this world.

A funeral service in church may be very short and quiet with only a few members of the family present, or an occasion with music, hymns and a packed church.  A funeral may also be set within a celebration of Holy Communion.

Whichever service you choose, the words and actions all speak of a loving God who cares for us who holds us in the palm of his hand; God who is there at our beginning and at the end of our life.
